What’s happening at the Harbor?

Week of October 28th

You can find traditional Halloween activities anywhere and everywhere this weekend but at National Harbor we are already hustling past Halloween and looking at new store openings, Washington Nationals World Series games, Fall recipes, and the Hot Cider Hustle.

N-A-T-S Nats, Nats, Nats, WOO!

National Harbor has been transformed into NationalS Harbor to celebrate our team in their World Series Run. Not only can you watch the games, for free, on our Plaza Jumbo Screen, but you can have the perfect Instagram photo shoot.

The Capital Wheel and the Plaza, both have the Nationals’ Curly W.

The entire property has gone RED from tower at Gaylord National to the trees on American Way!

Most restaurants on the property are also offering discounts or special menus during World Series Games.

So if you want to experience the World Series excitement without the World Series price tag, come down to NationalS Harbor to watch a game with us.

*It should be noted that MOST local sports are shown for free on the Plaza Jumbo screen. Saturday has NCAA football matchups and Sunday has Washington Redskins or Baltimore Ravens game. Pack a chair and head to National Harbor to watch live sports in the most unique atmosphere.

New Store Openings

Hey @DCFoodPorn I hope you are listening because National Harbor is opening a new fast casual restaurant you won’t want to miss.

Viaggio, pizza on the go, is opening on Wednesday October 30th to the public.

Viaggio serves Detroit style pizza, signature sandwiches, and artisan salads. Viaggio is toting that it is the fast on the go option at National Harbor.

ZAAF is opening in early November with the first store of its kind to come to National Harbor.

ZAAF is a high-end retail space carrying “Made in Africa”  handbags, scarves, shoes & other accessories for men and women. Check back for an official store opening date here

National Harbor Recipes

Okay, so I fibbed. We are taking a small pit stop at Halloween so I can tell you about this quick, party pleasing Peeps recipe.

We all know your family waits until the last minute to remind you it is your turn to bring the snack for the party. Don’t worry. We can save you this time!

All you need is 3 packs of your favorite Halloween Peeps from the Peeps store, a pack of chocolate chips and graham crackers from Potomac Gourmet Market, and cooking spray and a 9×9 inch baking dish from CVS.

  1. Preheat Oven to 450 Degrees
  2. Grease 9×9 pan
  3. Layer chocolate chips
  4. Cover the top completely with Peeps
  5. Bake until lightly browned (approx. 7 mins)
  6. Serve with graham cracker pieces.

Hot Cider Hustle

I have to admit, I love all things Fall and the Hot Cider Hustle is on my “must do” list. Registration closes on October 31st for this November 2nd run. Get signed up while you still can.

This is a 5 or 10k walk/run that has apple cider and caramel apples waiting for you at the finish line. Make a day of it and grab brunch with your friends and family at one of the many National Harbor restaurants as a reward for completing the race.
