National Harbor Lights Capital Wheel as ‘The National Wreath’ in Observance of National Wreaths Across America at Arlington National Cemetery
What: This week, when National Capital Region residents look at the Capital Wheel in National Harbor, they will see that it is now lit with the green and red of the holiday season, in observance of National Wreaths Across America Day.
On Saturday, December 17, thousands of volunteers will place nearly a quarter of a million wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery, in a mission to remember, honor, and teach about those who serve and sacrifice to protect our freedoms. 2016 marks the 25th anniversary of wreaths being placed on headstones at Arlington. Peterson Companies and National Harbor are happy to help sponsor wreaths, so that veterans and their families will know that this holiday season, we are giving the gift of gratitude to those who serve, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
