Christmas Time Has Arrived at Gaylord National Resort

Resort Offers Dozens of Holiday Activities including ICE!, Cirque Dreams Unwrapped and More

(National Harbor, Md. – October 18, 2018) – Come November 16, visitors to Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center will know that Christmas time is here! The Capital Region’s must-see holiday celebration, Christmas On The Potomac, presented by Pepsi, will return for its 11th year featuring more than a dozen holiday activities including the resort’s award-winning ICE! attraction, new Cirque Dreams Unwrapped show, a magical Christmas Village and more available from November 16, 2018 through January 1, 2019.

Guests young and old will marvel at the resort’s 19-story atrium décor including a jaw-dropping 55-foot Christmas tree suspended from its atrium ceiling, more than 2 million twinkling lights and a nightly fountain, laser light show that includes an indoor snowfall called A Christmas Wish. The show is sure to tug at visitors heart strings.

New this year, visitors can see a 25-minute Cirque Dreams Unwrapped show in the atrium. This spellbinding production will dazzle viewers with its vibrant Christmas fable including spectacular costumes, soaring imagination, gravity defying feats and on-the-edge-of-your-seat excitement. Attendees can enjoy acrobatic acts, aerialist performances and fun for the whole family performed by an international cast from seven countries. For guaranteed seating, tickets cost $19.99* and times vary by day.

The resort’s signature holiday attraction, ICE!, presented by DEI, will return for the 10th year to showcase the true meaning of Christmas with its rendition of the beloved classic story, A Charlie Brown Christmas by Charles Schulz. Favorite characters including Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy and friends will come to life in more than 2 million pounds of colorful, larger-than-life ice sculptures hand-carved by 35 artisans from Harbin, China. The attraction also includes four multi-story ice slides and culminates with a breathtaking, crystal clear ice sculpture Nativity scene that echoes Linus’ famous soliloquy from the holiday classic.

Tickets to ICE! featuring A Charlie Brown Christmas are $24* for kids ages 4 to 11 and $32* for adults ages 12 and older on value days. For general admission days, tickets cost $31* for kids and $38* for adults. Kids 3 and younger are free. Discounted military pricing is also available. Times vary by day.

If ICE! isn’t enough time with the Peanuts gang, visitors can experience a new Merry Snoopy Christmas Scavenger Hunt and enjoy an interactive character experience, Breakfast with Charlie Brown™ & Friends, that is sure to have the entire family bopping around. Enjoy a delicious buffet of morning favorites with Peanuts-themed dishes, such as Charlie Brown’s Build-Your-Own-French-Toast station with Snoopy’s Maple Syrup. Cost is $39.99* for adults ages 12 and older and $26.99* for children ages 4 to 11. Kids 3 and younger are free.

The fun continues in the resort’s Christmas Village, complete with ice skating, gingerbread decorating, stories and carols with Mrs. Claus and the big guy himself, Santa! Visitors also can enjoy the return of the Build-A-Bear Workshop® experience where guests make their very own furry winter friend – a cuddly, cute polar bear plush, designed exclusively for Gaylord Hotels that can be personalized with cozy winter clothing and accessories.

The resort’s luxury spa, Relâche Spa, will be getting into the holiday spirit with chocolate-themed treatments. Spa-goers can choose from a pedicure, massage or facial.

Hotel guests also will be captivated by a 10 foot by 20 foot gingerbread display of Christmas Around the World in the Gaylord National’s lobby. The masterpiece is crafted by the resort’s talented pastry team who wanted to showcase the Christmas traditions of their home countries.
