Gaylord National Resort Announces New Executive Chef

(National Harbor, Md. – March 1, 2017) – Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center is pleased to announce the appointment of David Creamer as its new executive chef, effective immediately. Creamer will oversee the entire culinary operations in the resort including its banquet kitchen and seven dining and beverage outlets.

“Chef David is an extremely passionate and creative culinary chef,” said Doug Ridge, area general manager of Gaylord National Resort and AC Hotel National Harbor. “He is equally known for being an incredible leader, mentor and teacher to his team. Both of these attributes will prove invaluable to drive an industry-leading culinary team and program at Gaylord National Resort.”

Creamer brings with him more than 18 years of experience in the food and beverage industry. He began his career with an externship at The Greenbrier when earning his hospitality and culinary degree at James Madison University.

He joined Marriott International, Inc. in 2001 as an executive sous chef at Marriott Metro Center in Washington, D.C., followed by a promotion to director of restaurants at the hotel. He has remained in the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia markets throughout his career, holding various titles including three executive chef positions at the Crystal City Gateway, Bethesda North Hotel & Convention Center and, most recently, the Renaissance Arlington Capital View.

Creamer’s passion for food began in New York City, when his Sicilian grandmother taught him how to make meatballs at the age of five. Since then, Italian cuisine has remained a huge influence in his cooking. He also has a passion for Thai food, cooking all things pork and creating dishes using sustainable, local ingredients.
