National Harbor to Honor National Black Business Month with “Black Biz Passport” to Spotlight and Celebrate its Black-owned Businesses
Passport is Available All Month During August
NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., July 21, 2025––National Harbor is celebrating National Black Business Month in August by launching the Black Biz Passport. The initiative will spotlight and celebrate National Harbor’s Black-owned businesses.
The Black Biz Passport encourages visitors to discover and support Black-owned shops, restaurants and experiences. There will be “National Harbor Black Biz Passport” signs at all participating locations and participants will be listed online as well, www.nationalharbor.com/black-biz-pass/ . Each visit to one of the designated venues supports local businesses and enters guests into a drawing to win a grand prize staycation including an overnight at Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.
“We are excited to be able to celebrate and support our many Black-owned businesses,” said Lauren Fells, marketing content manager at National Harbor who also organized the event. “There are so many unique shops, restaurants and experiences available at National Harbor. The program is an incentive for guests to discover something new.”
Participating businesses range from restaurants like The Brass Tap, to the brand new Wigenton Candles Co and experiences like Sip & Develop and Thread and Sole by Ki-netics Lab. For the full list of Black-owned businesses, visit www.nationalharbor.com/black-owned-businesses.
The Black Biz Passport is free, registration is available online or at participating locations. After registering, the passport is delivered via text or email to a mobile device. There are no apps to download. Each participating business has a unique four-digit code displayed at the register for proof of visitation. For additional entries, guest who make a purchase will receive a bonus entry for the prize drawing.
