Due to major construction at Pimlico Race Course this month, the Preakness Stakes is being held this year at Laurel Park on May 16 with the Black-Eyed Susan Stakes taking place on May 15. Laurel Park is in Prince George’s County, not far from National Harbor.
“We wanted to celebrate this historic event this year given that it’s being held nearby,” said Deborah Topcik, senior director of marketing at National Harbor.
