Is it required to wear a mask outdoors?
It is not required to wear a mask outdoors. However, if you aren't vaccinated, we hope you will.
May I come to National Harbor to exercise?
Yes, the Harbor Trail in the Waterfront District is open! We also have two Capital Bike Share stations, stairs to climb, and lots of other ways to stretch your legs. Additionally, The iconic Woodrow Wilson Bridge Trail crosses the Potomac River and stretches to Alexandria and Mt. Vernon. The trailhead is located in the Tanger Outlets parking lot and open to the community. Just follow signs for the TangerMiles trailhead when you enter the lot and have fun on your workout! What is National Harbor doing to keep the destination clean for guests, workers, and residents?
Consistent with CDC recommendations, we are intensifying our usual, thorough cleaning procedures around floors, doors, and other public areas using sanitizing and disinfectant formulas recommended by the CDC, with cleaning/sanitizing taking place throughout the day. What are the hours of National Harbor
Waterfront District at National Harbor's common areas close nightly at 10pm. Several of our restaurants are open later.
Transportation and Parking:
Are there designated pick-up spots for Restaurants, specialty food stores, and CVS that are open?
The National Harbor garages allow for a 15 minute grace period for you to run in and pick up your food from a restaurant.
Is my parking ticket from summer 2020's promotion still valid?
Those parking tickets are now expired. However, the Capital Wheel has several promotions that you might be interested in. Visit thecapitalwheel.com to learn more.
Is Capital Bikeshare available?
Yes, the stations by the Carousel and next to Residence Inn are open.
Is the Circulator still running?
The circulator is running again daily.
Masks:
Are the people working in the restaurants and stores required to wear a mask?
Masks are not required indoors. However, individual hotels, restaurants and stores might still have requirements.
Am I required to wear a mask walking around outside at National Harbor?
Masks are not required for outside. However, if you aren't vaccinated, we hope you'll consider masking up.
Am I required to wear a mask when I enter a restaurant or store?

Are National Harbor Restaurants open?
Restaurants in the Waterfront District are opened to full capacity. Carry out and delivery are also options.
Are there designated pick-up spots to pick-up food from restaurants?
National Harbor garages have a 15 minute grace period for you to pick up your food.
May I get food to go from a National Harbor restaurant and eat it on the benches and tables?
Yes, you may eat on the benches. There are picnic tables around the Waterfront District.
Hotels:
Are the hotels at National Harbor open?
All of National Harbor's hotels are open and ready to welcome you. Visit nationalharbor.com/stay for a list of hotels. Call the hotels for special healthcare workers and first responders offers.
Capital Wheel, Events, and Entertainment:
Is the Capital Wheel open?
The Capital Wheel is currently on winter hours. They open Monday - Thursday 4pm - 10pm and Friday - Sunday 10am - 10pm.
When may I use the tickets I received from the Capital Wheel to-go promotion?
The summer 2020 promotion has expired.
Is the Awakening open?
Yes, it s now open!
Is the Potomac Play Place on American Way open?
Yes, it is now open!
Is the Carousel open?
The Carousel is currently closed for winter, but will be reopening soon. Visit www.thecapitalwheel.com for the hours.
May I get a picture with any of the statues?

Now that The Capital Wheel and Carousel have reopened, how are you keeping it cleaned?
The Capital Wheel and Carousel are implementing Best Practices for Employee and Guest Safety that are outlined here: https://thecapitalwheel.com/health/.

- Employee use of protective gear
- Increased sanitation frequency
- Capacity limits
Examples Include:
- Dedicated Clean Team visible and active during all hours of operations
- UV light sweeps of gondolas after each use
- Handless sanitizer stations & portable sink installed
- Sanitizer wipe stations for guest access
- Hourly (minimally) sanitization of hard surfaces
- Pre-shift health screen including no touch temperature check
- Masks for team members
- Employee temperature screening

At this time, the Esplanade is offering self guided tours and virtual tours, but new residents are allowed to move in. Book your virtual tour here.

Are public restrooms open?
Yes, they are. We do ask that you limit the number of people in the restrooms to maintain 6 feet apart.
