Grab the kiddos and head to National Harbor for Kids Day every Tuesday at 10:30am from June - August. Enjoy the summer sunshine and a rotation of family friendly activities on the Plaza.

June Schedule
June 2: Join the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System for a morning of interactive story time, singing, dancing and more.
June 9: WHUT, Howard University Television is back with a community engagement series bringing families together through fun, educational experiences rooted in PBS Kids content. This year's theme is Retro PBS KIDS. It will blend iconic series with exciting new faces, sparking cross-generational conversations and fresh family memories. From hands-on activities to inspiring stories, this season celebrates curiosity, creativity, and connection for kids of all ages.
June 16: Meet and greet with the Prince George's County Police Department and Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department.
June 23: WHUT, Howard University Television is back with a community engagement series bringing families together through fun, educational experiences rooted in PBS Kids content. Go wild with a nature-themed adventure inspired by Wild Kratts, where kids can discover amazing American animals through hands-on activities, interactive learning and creature-filled fun.
June 30: Join George Washington's Mount Vernon for a morning filled with historical fun.
- Foundations of American Music is an interactive music presentation highlighting the diverse musical traditions of 18th century America. From the colonial battlefield to George Washington's own parlor, learn about the music that shaped the America's ear. The program ends with a chance for participants to join in and make music together.
- Revolutionary War Flags: Discover some of the different flags used during the American Revolution and how those flags connect to flags that are still used today. Participants will have the opportunity to create a flag of their very own.
July Schedule
July 7: WHUT, Howard University Television is back with a community engagement series bringing families together through fun, educational experiences rooted in PBS Kids content. Join Let’s LIT for a colorful Reading Rainbow experience featuring a community read-a-thon, free book giveaways and special guest readers.
July 14: Prince George’s Arts and Humanities Council will explore National Harbor’s newest public artwork Wildlife Wonder Boat and it’s powerful connection with wildlife. Through a coloring book created by the sculpture's artists, Gillie and Marc, children will journey into the world of endangered species — learning animal facts, engaging their creativity, and earning a certificate of participation. The program is designed to help young people feel inspired, curious, and empowered to take positive action for wildlife.
July 21: WHUT, Howard University Television is back with a community engagement series bringing families together through fun, educational experiences rooted in PBS Kids content. Featuring a special showing of Super Why!, plus hands-on fun like story puppet making, colorful sidewalk chalk art and interactive activities designed to spark creativity and imagination.
July 28: Be amazed by a special Teen Ensemble performance of The Case of the Vanishing Vase. A routine museum field trip takes a turn for the worst when a student suddenly falls ill and a valuable vase vanishes without a trace. Suspicion spreads, transforming the class’s ordinary trip into a puzzling mystery that demands answers. Use the clues to unravel the musical case of the vanishing vase! About the Teen Performance Ensemble:
The Teen Performance Ensemble has offered hands-on musical theater training for aspiring teen actors.

August 11: In celebration of Wildlife Wonder Boat by Australian artists Gille and Marc, the Embassy of Australia invites families to a didgeridoo workshop. One of the world’s oldest musical instruments, the didgeridoo is known for its unique sound. Join Australian artist and performer Cameron McCarthy who is descended from the Kuku-Yalanji people of Far North Queensland to learn about how this instrument is made, how it’s played and the stories it can tell.
August 18: WHUT, Howard University Television is back with a community engagement series bringing families together through fun, educational experiences rooted in PBS Kids content. Be My Neighbor Day invites kids to explore exciting hands-on activities while meeting real-life community heroes, including a doctor, police officer, artist and more.
